Villasimius Marine Festival 2024

By 31/05/2024July 8th, 2024No Comments

On the evening of July 13 at 9:30 p.m., Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino, fresh from the ten minutes of applause in Cannes for his Parthenope, will inaugurate the 2024 edition of the Villasimius Marina Festival. Seven evening events, with free admission, will feature portraits and conversations, among artists from the world of literature, cinema and music, according to a path designed by new artistic director Francesca Serafini.

The square of the Villasimius marina will once again this year be the natural stage for the festival organized by the MARINEDICULTURA Association with the Patronage of the Villasimius Municipality, which this year is joined by that of the Region of Sardinia.

It will therefore start on Saturday, July 13, with Paolo Sorrentino. The writer Sorrentino, though. Who will not only tell us about his cinema (a cinema where writing matters a lot, after all). But who for
once will leave the proscenium to his books - beautiful ones - in a dialogue with the Festival director.

Instead, on Friday, July 19, it will be the turn of Sandro Veronesi (two Strega, a Campiello, and a variety of other awards), in a conversation starting with his training as an architect, about whether it is really so different to design a bridge than a story. And if stories are not perhaps bridges to bring us all back to the center, from one shore to the other.

On Sunday, July 21, we will be among the first in Italy to meet the winner or winner of the 2024 Strega Prize, which will be awarded on the evening of July 4. In conversation with Stefano Petrocchi, director of the Bellonci Foundation, which organizes the prize.

Saturday, July 27, the evening will feature Alessandro Borghi and Luca Marinelli, two David di Donatello actors whose talents are illuminating our cinema and taking it beyond national borders.

On Sunday, July 28, tribute will be paid to Sardinia, which has always been the mother of great authors (from Grazia Deledda to Giuseppe Dessì, just to name two), in a conversation between Milena Agus and Alessandro De Roma, who will offer us a journey through the books of their formation-a fascinating adventure also for those who will be able to take home valuable reading suggestions for the current vacation season.

On Saturday, August 3, 2016 Campiello Prize winner Simona Vinci will be the protagonist of a conversation with Giordano Meacci (fi nalist at Strega 2016, and winner of numerous awards including the Flaiano in 2018). A fascinating journey through their books and the literature that shaped them.

Finally, the review is connected in its title-The Great Beauty-to the meeting that had opened it.

On Sunday, August 4, Dori Ghezzi will retrace the stages of her singing as a soloist and as a couple with Wess and will tell us a very private story of her own about music, along with her love for Fabrizio De André and Sardinia, in a dialogue with Valentina Bellè (Silver Ribbon 2023 and among the European Shoting stars in Berlin 2024), who in 2018 wore her shoes in the film Fabrizio De André: Principe libero. A comparison of female artists of different ages and backgrounds to see if it is so different to play a role in a film or a song while singing. All, indeed, of great beauty.

The Festival, the brainchild of Luigi Ferrara and organized in collaboration with Ornella Bramani, as of this year has the artistic direction of Francesca Serafini, a writer, screenwriter and juror in numerous awards, including from the 2024 edition, to stay in Sardinia, the Giuseppe Dessì.

The Festival has obtained the Patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Villasimius, the Patronage of the Region of Sardinia (it is waiting in days for the outcome of the requested Patronage to the Ministry of Culture) and the support of MAG, Sicuritalia, Queryo, Alarm System, Surrau, Tanka Village, Hotel Cala Caterina, Hotel Su Sergenti, Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi, Acqua e Sale and is realized with the collaboration of the Villasimius Tourist Consortium, the Hemingway bookstore and thanks to the decisive contribution of Marina di Villasimius Srl, company
organizer and host venue of the initiative.
